Foodie Thoughts for 19 December

Foodie fans today is National Hard Candy Day! I'm not much of a sweets person but when it comes to candy - hard candy is one of my first choices... It's also quite easy to make - I usually make a few pans of peanut brittle and a pan or two of hard candy every Christmas.

Orange Flavored Hard Candy

3 3/4 C. white sugar 1 1/2 C. light corn syrup
1 C. water
1 T. orange, or other flavored extract
1/2 t. orange food coloring (optional)
1/4 C. confectioners' sugar for dusting
